August 29, 2019 - Graphite on the nose. Still pretty tight with some noticeable tannins, suggesting it will last at least another decade and probably much longer. Beautifully balanced fruit. This is fresh, vibrant and complex. Dark blackberries and licorice.

August 25, 2019 - My first MB ... Decanted for 3 hours in the cellar and noticed what can only be described as a shocking salinity in my first try. Let it evolve in glass for about 30 min, and came around to start tasting as the other notes suggest, very much like a solid vintage Left Bank. Returned half to the bottle, stored in cellar overnight, and enjoyed much more on day 2. Agree with the notes below, drinking well, not sure much upside and will likely finish my last bottle within the next year or so.

August 9, 2019 - Allowed to breath over an hour and a half. Single decant. Superb colour with just a gentle Hugh of age at the rim. Soft subtle nose. Fully integrated tannins. Has a beautiful length. Hints of lanolin and leather. Fruit forward but gentle. has a wonderful cigar box aftertaste. Long fruit that gently lingered on the palate. Superb wine. Doubt that it will improve from here but if you have some, enjoy!

July 17, 2019 - Outdoorsy and magnanimous, densely woven but relaxed, having entered into a long autumn with initial notes of decay but plenty of late afternoon sun and freshness intact. If too much of those later-stage aromas and flavors aren't your thing, you'll still enjoy this now, drink up! If you're willing to walk that forest path, this will provide still more enjoyment -2022.

April 4, 2019 - Dark and ripe, not overripe. Some green notes and a very very long greenish finish. Fascinating wine

(Ridge Monte Bello) Medium dark ruby color with slight bricking; lovely, lifted, raspberry, ripe plum, herbal, seaweed nose; tasty, silky textured, maturing but still youthful, tart cassis, cedar, herbal, dried seaweed palate; long finish (72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot)

(Ridge Monte Bello) Very dark red violet color; berry, cassis, beets, beef jus nose; maturing, beef jus, green peppercorn, berry, iron, black fruit and fig palate; medium-plus finish (on a faster evolutionary track than the average Monte Bello, but still elegant and with years ahead of it)

(Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon) Wow! This has a very expressive nose, with piles of pure, deep, blue and black fruits on the nose. The palate is rather svelte, structured and yet balanced, rather more elegant than obvious. Rich, impressive wine, deep and spicy, with a core of ripe tannins which rally on the finish. Excellent, with great potential still.
