February 11, 2023 - shared with pat at selkirk manor. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with pas due drink by dates. i have been holding onto this wine waiting for an opportunity to share with marty s. which has not yet occurred. i have had this wine in the past between 6/2015 and 9/2018. see previous notes. oddly enough, this half bottle is more interesting than those previously tasted. perhaps i am not being completely objective as i am struck by how well the wine has held up sixteen years past the vintage. this is the oldest california pinot that i have ever had. the wine is fully mature but still shows some energy. bright cherry color with no browning or fading. still get cherry and raspberry on the palate along with additional chocolate notes. acid and tannin fully resolved. sediment adheres to the bottle which i don't expect to see in pinot although i have never had one this old. will attend to remaining bottles asap.

August 23, 2020 - Experience consistent with my note in the fall of 2017; enough left to pair with a fresh salmon fillet, roasted red pepper aioli and mushrooms.

September 15, 2018 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. this is our third bottle. numerous notes from others have indicated that the wine is flawed. also, at one point the winery was unloading 750's for $10. considering this, my bottles appear to be in somewhat better than average condition. nevertheless, the wine continues to be relatively one dimensional with a hint of cherry fruit but insufficient structure to portend future development. significant sediment adheres to the wall ofthe bottle but does not make its way into the glass. spectator longevity of 2015 needs to be respected. drink up.

September 2, 2017 - This was one of two different 375s I took to a pre-game tailgate to accompany chicken enchiladas and a Mexican chop salad. While this wine was one dimensional, complexity wasn't needed tonight and it remains enjoyable.
Nevertheless, I will try to use the remaining bottles this Fall.
