August 29, 2020 - Pure silk. The fruit is still lovely and one of the more enticing '06s I've had in that department. But it's the texture you really soon over.

March 28, 2020 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour with fading brick-colored rim and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of red fruit of raspberry and cherries, sweet spice of clove, oak notes of cedar, mineral notes of earth, floral notes of violet, maturity notes of wet leaves. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium (+) acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol and medium body, with medium (+) intensity flavors of red fruit of cranberry and cherries, mineral notes of earth, oak notes of cedar, floral notes of violet. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Volnay with a reasonably intense nose showing good complexity, with plenty of red fruit and spice, on the palate the wine is elegant with finesse, having good acidity and integrated tannin, well-balanced, with good concentration of flavors and a decent finish. It is ready to drink now and can further develop for another 3-5 years.

October 6, 2018 - Rather light red, slightly opaque, some brick colour at the edge. Nose with ripe strawberries, some cherries, some oak and spice notes, and a bit of developed notes. Medium(+) body with strawberries, cranberries, good concentration of fruit, prominent acidity, decent minerality and quite noticeable tannins with a bit of a hard feeling to them. Aftertaste with berries and tannins. Definitely good weight for a Volnay, but a but chewy and angular which makes it less charming than expected for the appellation. It could be the vintage talking. It could possibly develop and integrate the tannins better, 89(+) pts.

(La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos des 60 Ouvrées) Very dark cherry red color; maturing, tart black cherry, talc, dried cherry nose; tart black cherry, black raspberry, iodine palate; for drinking soon; medium-plus finish

(Pousse d'Or Volnay Clos des 60 Ouvrées) Medium-plus colour. The nose is a mix of oak and dark fruit elements. There's plenty of tannin but it's set against beautiful dark fruit and mouthwatering acidity. Again super.
