June 16, 2012 - enjoyed with roasted entrecôte, a very good combination. Now perfect to drink, intense red with orange reflexes. slowly developing nose, red berries, vanilla and a bit oak. On the palate ripe, warm, well balanced. medium long finish. An excellent Nebbiolo with very good pvr.

March 20, 2010 - TN: 08 Colle Stefano Verdicchio, 04 Graillot Crozes Hermitage, 05 Cascina Ca'Rossa Audinaggio (Dopo (Oakland, CA)): Traci and I had been at Paul Marcus Wines in Oakland to pick up some Champagne when we were invited in the back to taste a couple of Produttori wines. They also had a lineup of Cascina Ca'Rossa wines to taste that they were thinking of stocking - btw if you seen the 2009 Roero Arneis from these guys buy it. It is stunning!!!
On to the wine...we tasted the 06 in the back room and asked if it was available. Unfortunately not yet but the 05 was on the shelf and Mark said it was a little bigger and a little more open right now. So what the heck we are in.
What a terrific wine. Ruby red with a slight orange tint. It has really pretty red fruit, spice/pepper with a very nice rose/floral quality. Really pleasing acidity and tannins perfectly in check with the fruit. I think this was $30 or so and well worth the price...
In fact, the producers entire lineup is pretty terrific.
