January 15, 2014 - Love Chappellet, have not had this designation/blend before. Near the end of it's published drinking window, but holding up nicely. Dark ruby, nose mostly ripe dark fruit, a little tar. Fleshy mouthfeel, typical for Chappellet. Ripe candied fruit, holding some acidity giving lift to the finish. If there were tannins they are mostly resolved. Nice.

July 5, 2011 - Lush nose, dark deep color, fruit and structure in the body with a long finish

November 7, 2010 - Gloria's first meal back home, ahhhh I miss her cookin'. NY Strips, green beans, herb friend triangle potatos, and sauted garlic onion mushrooms finished with a bit of red wine & butter. Ohhhhhhhyaaaaaa.

PnP & next 2 hours. I was taking a nap! Nice inviting, dark garnet clear red. Nose is tender, needs a deep draw to get the flavorcules out. Subtle dark fruits, faint roast coffee. A black fruit swamp. Can get a hint of oak, once maybe a bit strong, but now resolved, married to the fruit. Lighter on the palate than I recall, lots of sensations, complicated, just loads of fruit, touch of that charred oak, black licorice, some cedar, herb finish. Tannins a bit rough, not ripe but act to keep the whole thing together. Super easy drinking wine, delicious & secondary flavors. Lingers forever. For the price point and drinking design window this is an excellent effort. Great wine club wine.

Chappellet is one of the best wineries in my portfolio, and a best of from the wine club list as well. Great QPR and solid wines across the varietals. One last sip confirms the above, half way though and 2 hours only getting better. This baby is at it peak and has 3-5 years left.

October 30, 2010 - Good as usual. Nice berry flavor, but its time to drink it now if you have it. Favors were starting to fade.....
