January 5, 2024 - A great recent find that outperformed expectations and had great QPR. Dark fruit with a touch of sweetness fr the vintage (but not overdone as you can see with some 2003s), complex nose with some spice, some tar, leather, etc. Still chewy w medium finish. Great performance overall for a 20 year old Bordeaux purchased on sale for $42.
December 22, 2018 - Coravin pour. Had a glass, narrow consistent flavor. Never really popped, but was a nice drink
December 22, 2016 - After an hour decant, you have blackberry fruit, cigar box and spice. The dark purple fruit is restrained along with this Bordeaux being nicely structured. Think this is reaching its optimal drinking window.
May 5, 2016 - Dark purple. Undistinguished blue and black fruits with a mineral core and road tar. I thought this might open with air but 2-3 hours really didn't help. Significant bottle variation in this wine.
April 23, 2016 - Ready to drink. Had with rack of lamb. Went well. Some smoky meat nice finish. Long.
April 12, 2015 - This bottle was significantly better than others from the case. Dark purple. Sweet blue and black fruit, nutmeg, spice box, and tar. Lots of complexity and sweet fruit. Long finish. In a great place right now.
March 16, 2015 - Strong tobacco leaf nose. More fruit than the last bottle, so far more balanced. Enjoyable and in a good place at this point. Unlikely to develop much further.
February 14, 2015 - Purple black. Plum, blackberry, baking spice, coffee, mineral note. Medium finish.
December 25, 2014 - Nice enough, but not harmoniously developed--and will never be.
November 13, 2014 - This threw a large amount of sediment. Purple garnet. Plum, blackberry, leather, and graphite with a sour cherry note. Drinking really well just now. Lively with smooth tannins.
