August 12, 2017 - Powerful nose of raspberry, strawberry and slight barnyard. Flavors took half hour to rise above the tannins. Palate of berries, leather, herbs with a solid tannic backbone. Still drinking very nicely.
February 3, 2017 - Lots of cola, oak, and dark fruit on the nose. The palate is unfortunately unbalanced. Highly extracted and too over the top. The finish is oddly bitter, not sure if there is any whole cluster but it tastes bitter for a full minute afterwards. There is little to no acid either which would have rounded things out a little bit more.
This is supposed to be 2007 and this bottling does not do the vintage justice.
October 11, 2015 - strawberries and cherries over a firm core.
September 3, 2015 - dark cherry with a junto of cola on the finish
October 12, 2014 - Fading...drink up.
October 12, 2014 - This, like a number of the better '07s, is drinking wonderfully right now. Much more red fruit and smoke than I had expected it to show. Improved as it was open over the night.
December 8, 2013 - Served blind and due to big fruit, bold flavors, and largely structured wine with good acids, I guessed this as an 05 vintage, maybe Shea fruit. Surprised as hell to see it as Nysa and of all vintages...07.
Guess I'd better work on my palate some more....
This wine was still improving with air. Maybe 1/2 the bottle will yield some more info tomorrow.
October 19, 2013 - Evolving nicely over the years. Great structure.
July 8, 2013 - Still going strong, what a dork for not buying more...
April 13, 2013 - Did take about an hour to come around and a bit big for an 07
