Bcp de fruits foncés, notes empyreumatiques et effectivement mine de plomb toujours présent.
Équilibré; belle structure dans l'ensemble.
Peut-être encore un peu trop de bois à mon goût..
Una autre bouteille à ouvrir d'ici 2-5 ans.
June 29, 2017 - Dark red in the glass, nose of dark fruit and spices, pencil shavings. In mouth nicely tannic, some plums and forest fruit, good acidity, good balance. Long finish.
Very good wine, at 30 Euro it is a steal. Highly recommended.
December 19, 2015 - Decanted for 30 minutes and it opened up fantastic. Lots of dark fruit, licorice. Leather and balanced tannins in flavour.
January 26, 2015 - Decanted and served after 40 minutes. Sourced directly from the estate so no bottle issues here. Quite rich wine, felt like a modernish Bordeaux to supertuscan for Nicol who tried it blind.
A few porty notes as time went buy and definitely ripeness trumps all other at this stage. Good dark frutis on the nose and on the palate the tannin is well round albeit present. Good wine and a decent 90.
December 30, 2014 - Very tight out of the bottle and quit a bit of cedar. Loosened up after a coupe of hrs. Very dark and beautiful color. Fruit starts to show and the tannins have mellowed. Definitely a pencil lead on the the after taste. Day two actually much better. More flavorful.
March 23, 2013 - Stunning - this is showing so well - tannins are soft and rounded - good nose and fruit - a beautiful glass!
September 28, 2011 - decanted for 30 minutes and this shows very well - plenty of fruit but lean and the tannins resolve nicely - good show!

July 7, 2011 - Wijn Leren Proeven; 7/7/2011-7/9/2011 (Kaartershuisje Nieuwpoort): "Once you go black , you never go back" This wine is so dark and black flavours are so abundant. Cassis, coffee & dark chocolate. 6,5 finisch. Good but i expect more for a flagship wine.
