March 3, 2018 - Once highly attracted.... now, at last, showing a more open and relaxed feel.
Sweet and creamy cedar and sandalwood, blueberrycompote and a dark brambly coulis, peppery, spicy and gamey. Great acidic vein, tannines resolved, wonderful hint of juniper in the long and balanced finish.
    Very very nice.

November 12, 2016 - Polished dark garnet color.

Beautiful, slightly high toned, nose of roses, tar, damp earth (a little manure), and cigar box.

Old fashioned claret-like Barossa shiraz. Dense black and red fruits. Dusty cherry and black plums. Very well balanced with crisp acidity carrying the fruit through the long palate. Late tannin grip. Warm but not hot (note 13.3% ABV).

May 29, 2016 - Aggressive floral perfume nose. Violet and spices.

April 19, 2016 - HdR Farewll BBQ (Hospice du Rhone): Raj Modak brought this and offered up a taste. IIRC, this was their first vintage. In spite of what many said, this has held up beautifully. There is a slight oxidation but not much. Some barnyard on the nose. Lots of black raspberry fruit. Some fresh, some dried. Good acidity. Tannins are all integrated. Layers of complexity. It drinks as a mature wine, but not over the hill. A very nice treat.

September 18, 2014 - Smooth, with abundant fruit, fully resolved tannins. A touch sweet and jammy, but a pleasure.
