December 31, 2019 - Disappointing. I remember buying this on release and it showed so much promise. The tannins are well integrated but the fruit jumped out as being very juicy and over-done. I was hoping for better over all integration. Still holds decent acid and went well with prime rib roast, but it was not outstanding

December 30, 2018 - Glad we opened this. Dark fruit notes. Big bold. Definitely a drink now.

February 6, 2016 - Broke the cork! Showing some red brick coloring on the edge. Aroma of oak, vanilla, peppercorn, and ethanol. First flavor is blueberry. On standing some more pepper. Tannins not fully balanced with the fruit, feeling the alcohol and astringency.

October 23, 2015 - Really spectacular. Big nose - the fruit is really present and very pleasant. Tannins are totally integrated and just barely perceptible. Sad that this was my last bottle.

August 8, 2015 - great nose, fruit and balance still

(Ladera Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain) Dark cranberry red color; sexy black fruit nose; nice cherry, vanilla palate, a little tight; medium finish (The daughters of the owners of Ladera and Chateau Woltner were on hand and informed us that this was the first release of their Cab from this vineyard. The cepage was 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot. 45% of the blend was aged in new French oak, and 800 cases were made.)
