April 13, 2021 - Sort of forgot this bottle in the cellar. Relocated it recently, and am very glad to taste it again.

Lovely. Citrus and blackberries and old leather. Mellowed and just plain beautiful. Wish I had misplaced another case for rediscovery — now.

April 2, 2018 - Good Cab nose and palate with lots of structure and slightly bitter finish

November 27, 2017 - Lots of cherry, some citrus. Tannins still strong, but mature balance.

November 24, 2015 - Did we wait too long? Good but no longer stunning. Bright fruits, mellowed, some heat, a little musk. Very little tannin.

December 8, 2012 - Really good, actually. Imagine a cross between the more structured Conn and the more vanilla-y (is that a word? :) Caymus. You get that creme brulee thing going on, and then at the finish, there's a little extra somethin'-somethin' that entices you to have another sip. And another. Kept surprising me--like having a conversation with a pretty girl that you assume has nothing but her looks, but then every once in a while she drops words like "penurious" and "circumspect." And you want to keep the conversation going, just so you're convinced that she really meant to use those words. If that makes any sense. :0

Another Napa Valley Cabernet Wine, Episode #580, 11/18/2008 (link) 93 points

(Volta Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-really nice black licorice; heavy dose of plum; really good black fruit; a little Vanilla/dairy action, but not over-oaked; TASTE-heavy concentration of fruit; very tannic & tight (expected as it was just opened); big wine; excellent quality of black fruit on the back-end; a little heat; very solid; big purple inkiness; big structure; good dark chocolate flavors coming through; this wine has a lot of lusciousness; bright & focused; purple Big League Chew bubble gum flavor on the back-end w/ a little shred of dark chocolate; good length and really coats your palate; this wine brings some serious thunder; some nice black and greet tea components; we should have decanted this for 2-4 hours; this would be tremendous w/ big foods; extremely well made; good structure; great fruit; spectacular; I love the buttered chocolate on the back-end; WS-92; GV-93
