March 7, 2021 - Much better than the last bottle tried. A bit of a lighter style, but classic aged claret nose, good color, and very well balanced. Won't improve but no rush.

June 4, 2018 - Very lucky, there was no issue with it. Only ‘issue’ was the cork, crumbled, but saved it.
Lovely flavours, tobacco, leather. Full body. Portwineish color.
    Great experience!!

March 29, 2017 - Well, just tried its younger brother two days ago, the 79, which was better.
Fill a little below bottom of neck, totally soaked cork, but got it out without disintegrating. Brownish, light in color, tannins gone, a hint of Bordeaux character, quite diluted and anonymous in taste. Kept too long...

November 25, 2016 - Great color, grassy notes on nose and palate, not affirmatively bad, but not inspiring, and not as nice as past bottles. Go figure.

May 4, 2013 - Well past the drinking window. Throwaway bottle in a batch of other wine I acquired. Cork came out in one piece, classic orange bricking you'd expect from a wine of this age. Initially dry and smoky. Fruitless, w a slight vegetal aftertaste. Probably a decent wine in its day but that day has passed and the night is full of terrors.

(Château Batailley) Group's #7 (my #2) – 77 pts; 1, 1, 2, 3 – Light medium brick red color with clear meniscus; tobacco, leather and mushroom nose; nice tobacco, leather, mature Bordeaux palate with good acidity and green bean notes; medium finish (easy pick as Bordeaux ringer)
