February 13, 2022 - pop and pour, drunk over a few hours
A lovely, mature stony-chalk, nutty nose with orchard more than citrus fruits. It's expansive on the palate with intensity, depth and poise. Extremely well balanced with terrific cut. sap and density. It's texturally rich with a sense of gravitas, but with equal parts acid and bouyancy that keeps it light on its feet. More orchard and citrus fruit, marzipan, jasmine, and some cooling fresh herbal notes. Finishes with subtle honey and white truffle. This has grand cru depth with grand cru precision. Blind, I bet I would call this Meursault A multifaceted harmonious wine with contrasts coming together into a greater whole. Very long. mouthwatering. At peak, but I doubt any upside.
