January 21, 2019 - Pretty dense dark wine with a meatiness and spicy nature. Fairly well balanced and nicely dry. Earthy and cocoa powder. Fun aged syrah.
September 16, 2017 - After 8 years in my cellar and 5 years since opening one, this still is a fine almost black wine with hints of blackberry, soft spiciness, and an ever so smooth mouth feel. I wish I had more than one left!
November 16, 2015 - Much calmer than in early years, not so much crazy smoke and darkness, but those characteristics are blended into a very nice balanced wine that evolves well from beginning to end.
July 4, 2015 - Color: dark inky core -> fairly dense deep ruby rim. Simple nose of plums, blackberries and perhaps a little ground mace. Smooth, polished palate of sweet plum and cherry fruit with a touch of charcoal. Wine-strategies nailed this; open, smooth, serviceable wine that should appeal to the crowd, but just needs a little more soul.
August 24, 2013 - Rich fruit and smooth, perhaps lacking a little more tannin to balance. But enjoyed it.
March 18, 2013 - Blackberry, cinnamon, fruit note finish, hints of citrus.
September 9, 2012 - Black in the glass, spiciness on the nose and palate, with a velvety mouthfeel. Very different than most syrahs I drink from the Rhone. Very nice wine!
June 3, 2012 - An inky dark wine with structured tannins that relaxed after opening, revealing a full-fruited but taught young wine that easily held up to an aged Rib Eye. Will be curious to try again in a couple more years.
June 1, 2012 - Big, inky, dark, rich Syrah. Well made and well balanced. Almost chewy. Everyone enjoyed it.
May 17, 2012 - Velvety and smooth, great balance. Really Enjoyed this wine.
