January 16, 2022 - Wow. Absolutely magnificent nose of raspberry, black perigord truffles, gravel and blackberries. A silky palate with cherry, walnut, cedar and truffles. Deftly balanced and layered with loads of nuanced interest.

    Generously shared by Englishmans Claret.

January 16, 2022 - Langoa never gets a fair shake. But tonight, blind, it did. Raspberry, red cedar, pencil, mineral, and Périgord truffle, deep and effusive, disarmingly aromatic, this can’t help but charm. At the peak of its powers en magnum, this was a favorite among experienced tasters who preferred it to the Léoville; I found them qualitatively equal.

October 4, 2021 - I love the 1985s. A vintage that was written off as to easy and no future just goes on and on. I did not expect great things from Langoa but goodness the colour was so young and healthy. The nose was slightly restrained and the the palate almost frustratingly immature. Extraordinary that this will improve over the next 5-10 years.

September 17, 2017 - Quite the classic charmer, with its cedar, tobacco, spice and sharp red fruit nose. Medium bodied and quite fresh, but not overly acidic on the palate, age has added a lot of nuance to the wine. Perfect with a late summer grilled fare.
