February 1, 2023 - From a magnum. Still lots of savory fruit. Likely to go another 2-3 years, but definitely on the downside.
October 5, 2019 - Still going strong.
December 2, 2018 - Prime time. Tons of anise/licorice, black raspberry, cola, pepper, smoke.
From Jaffurs glory years:’06, ‘07, ‘08.
November 16, 2016 - Deep dark purple. Mint, huge fruit, nothing has faded here. Oak is noticeably preserved. Big
May 25, 2014 - Wonderful.
March 8, 2014 - Outstanding place right now.
November 27, 2012 - Consumed too young, but delicious never the less. Purple in color. The nose has black raspberries, charred wood/charcoal, blueberries, some leather and black pepper. On the palate, this is pretty big. Consumed over three days, it stayed consistent. Great lush texture. A good amount of oak on opening, I think it needs 5 more years to integrate. Plenty of fruit should still be left.
July 22, 2012 - Drank from a magnum. This was a great syrah. A modest decant, but was only slightly closed upon opening. A great nose. Red fruit and earth which is what I expected from this California Syrah. Well made wine and drinking well at this point. I would love to find more of it.
July 14, 2012 - corked
May 29, 2012 - Wonderful warm climate syrah. Tons of dense, layered spicy dark fruit with great structure. Not flabby or cloying in the least and not a trace of heat. Another knockout wine from the Larner Vineyard.
