Community Tasting Notes 5

October 22, 2017 - It's always a nice surprise when cheap wine age well!

Fully developed nose with medium intensity. Yellow plum, dried mango, lemoncurd, resin, petroleum, dried herbs, wet slate and fermented sausage (isterband).

Medium(+) acidity, medium(-) body and just a liiiiittle bit of RS. Surprisingly fresh and not hollow or dried out at all. Yellow plum, bruised yellow pear, baked lemon and resin. The finish lingers a bit with dried plum and lemonzest.

    Drink now!

October 25, 2010 - My first Austrian win...and I liked it. Very riesling in profile, with some sort of citrus a friend and I tried to pinpoint. More like grapefruit or orange than apple or pear. And a nice mineral notes as well. Based on this producer and tasting, I can see myself purchasing these Austrian wines as alternate to German rieslings. Recommended.
11/29/10-Now a few days in the bottle. although a decent amount of fruit was present, this wine seemed more about structure. Had German rieslings very fruit forward but this Austrian struck a nice balance between all components.

June 25, 2009 - Slow to get going, and a delicate nose. Notes of herbs and apple, floral. Crisp acidity with apple echoed on the palate with some more exotic spice notes and a saline quality. Quite peppery, eventually quite richly textured. Once it opened up and got going it was quite good. Seems to have a very big upside and will be better in time.

June 21, 2009 - Took a great while before opened up. Very fresh and a lot of minerals - a small string of lemon and green hay. Better with food than as apertizer.
