December 23, 2022 - Pears on the nose. Medium weight and long finish. Excellent with sea bass.

December 20, 2022 - You'll need to like mature flavours. Settled down after being open an hour. Rather food friendly but not for everyone at this point.

August 24, 2021 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium gold colour, with watery rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with pronounced intensity of floral notes of honeysuckle, citrus fruit of kumquat, green fruit of ripe pear, tropical fruit of mango, stone fruit of apricot, mineral notes of waxy, kernel notes of roasted hazelnut, maturity notes of honey. The wine is fully developed.
Palate: Off-dry with medium (+) acidity, the wine has medium (+) alcohol, full body and medium (+) intensity flavours of citrus fruit of kumquat, green fruit of ripe pear, stone fruit of apricot, kernel notes of hazelnut, maturity notes of honey. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Alsace Pinot Gris showing great development, with very concentrated aromas of great complexity, showing initially floral and citrus, then a wide range of fruity characters, evolving into development and hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is of slight sweetness, with good balance, very concentrated in flavours and also exhibiting good length on the finish. It is ready to drink now and can maintain for another 2-3 years.

May 24, 2020 - truly splendid and on point. can't imagine there being any upside to holding this longer, but it is a hearty wine that can probably handle awhile more in a good cellar no harm done.

this really shone as it came up to room temp.

April 20, 2019 - Yellow. Light, elegant weight. Wonderful first burst of off dry pear and apple before the mustiness of TCA reared its head.

February 12, 2019 - This was a treat! Rich, fruity and yet nuanced and complex nose with sweet, ripe, yellow stonefruit (apricot), honey, wild flowers, vegetable broth and a slight sting of alcohol! Fat, waxy, rich and almost overwhelming on the palate, but with a remarkable balancing acidity, this bottle left me ever as bewondered as I hoped when I bought it!
If you can get your hands on it - buy it!

Try it with a foi de gras, or with a gravlax sandwich!

December 16, 2018 - Off dry, round and slightly waxy. There's something floral about the nose, and mushroomy about the palate. Friendly enough with gammon and sauerkraut.

This bottle was more balanced than the one I had a couple years ago. I'll wait another year or so to open my last, curious how it might develop.

December 25, 2017 - Fairly round a rich in style, the nose didn’t really get going but the palate had so much going on and the finish was long. I would have preferred a little more acidity but I’m not too familiar with this style

    October 6, 2017 - Informal note.

A big complex wine. Flavours of blossom, flowers, kumquat, tropical fruit, honey, some vanilla. Evolves in the glass. Really impressive. Long finish. Some boiled sweet on the finish. Maybe a touch more acidity would help drive it further for me. A real tasting experience.
