September 3, 2019 - YAWG Old Bordeaux Tasting; 8/31/2019-9/3/2019: Lively nose. Balanced, smooth mouth feel, spicy. Cherry, warm fruit. Just a touch of tar. Long finish

    August 31, 2019 - Clear medium ruby

    Cooked fruit: cherry, blueberry
    Spice: pepper
    Cola
    Wet earth/broken sticks
    Tabasco

    Dry
    Fresh juicy fruit
    Mid alcohol
    Mid body
    Mid+ tannins
    Mid acid
    Mid finish: cherry chocolate cake

Tannins could be unpleasant but so far so good. Needs food.

October 8, 2017 - Not terrible, but not very enjoyable (to me) either. Very "green" especially upon first opening. Green bell pepper was the primary aroma I got early on, and while it faded a bit and revealed some other more interesting tertiary notes, that's most of what I got from it.

September 11, 2015 - PNP: Cassis and leather. Quite dense. Fresh acidity with marked tannins. Juicy and youthful. Long. Felt this should be cellared another 4-5 years. Day 2: Left overnight, it had opened up somewhat. Still plenty of cassis, but more earthy/banyard notes. Tannins still some flexing towards the finish. More velvety. Would still recommend cellaring to catch further upside, although this will never be up there of course. A nice, reliable claret that I think will pair well with beef.

September 6, 2014 - Tasted blind. Thought it was a 1990 BDX. Very good. Fennel seed on the nose. Needs a few more years.
