October 25, 2011 - I think GV nailed this. I found it rather boring and one dimensional. Didn't decant. On the second day this completely fell apart.

December 18, 2009 - strong black pepper, very interesting, will look for more

June 11, 2009 - Popped and poured (I didn't follow the decant recomendation, but I've never decanted a Malbec yet); maybe it didn't open up was drinkable, but probably at the bottom of all the Malbecs I've ever had. I just didn't like it.

(Monteflores Malbec) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-black pepper; blackberry; refined; Bordeaux-like; but a little tight; hint of Oak; TASTE-nice balance on the back-end which I like, but not a lot of pizzazz; some bitter tannins; almost a dark black chocolate bitterness; hint of vanilla & caramel action on the mid-palate that I like; a little bark & cedar box; really ripe small cherries and almost a cranberry aspect on the back-end; tight initially, but it's evolving; it has a tight tannic backbone; very serviceable "Thursday Night" wine; not going crazy about this, but has nice elegance factor on the transition from mid-palate to the finish; solid; nice w/ steaks; would decant 3-5 hours; GV-88
