December 2, 2014 - The nose is deep and rich with ripe red berry, sweet floral perfumes, spice and dried leaves. On the palate, it shows dark red fruits and mineral-laden soil tones, which saturates the palate throughout the finish. This is an excellent example of the depths that Barbera is capable of.

December 8, 2013 - Yeah it's really that good. A lot better than some Barolos out there. Deep rich but incredibly mellow. Lovely toasted oak, cocoa, and vanilla qualities.

June 18, 2012 - Heavy toast on the nose: tar, burnt wood, espresso, liquorice, dark chocolate, vanilla... you get the picture. Deep and rounded on the palate, dense black fruit, slightly inky, acids blurred by the oak which also imparts some bitter tannins. Still fairly young, actually. Other tasters were quite enthusiastic about this bottle - two out of five even held it as their favourite among five barberas including 06 G Conterno, 08 B Mascarello, 06 Cappellano and 04 Roagna - but it wasn't much fun to us. Last bottle, won't buy again, ever.

May 2, 2010 - WOW. This is a blockbuster Barbera, modern style, showing very vivid strawberry and raspberry aromas, with a blast of vanilla and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and very concentrated, with big, chewy tannins and lots of ripe fruit. Very, very long. Drink now or over the next 10 years. - JD93

November 20, 2009 - nice nose of berry and flowers, medium bodied, flavors of black cherry with some decent oak. Good tannic grip and acidity. First Barbera I tried that I enjoyed.

November 13, 2009 - short, lacking in depth on the midpalate, acidity not enjoyable. Probably needs more time.
