October 29, 2019 - Holds pretty well, no sign of fading. It's a bit sweet for me but the consistency and age-worthiness is remarkable, I tried many bottles since release and all performed on the same level. It's like a ripe, modern classified Bordeaux, has the complexity and depth to command the price. No hurry to open.

March 3, 2014 - WES - Hungary (LSE Holborn): High intensity. Sweet cedar wood with spice and vanilla on the nose. Some prunes too. Rich, firm, less fruit than expected from the nose. Quite hot with reasonable length and somewhat lacking in the middle palate.

August 26, 2012 - Spotted in a blind tasting, so typically Gere. Dark berries, coffee, leather, cool character, has freshness. Round and dense on the palate with again dark fruits, and some sweetness. Still young.

November 25, 2011 - Game dinner with a very large group (@ TM): Just one glass; tasted half an hour after opening the bottle and keeping it aside while tasting several other wines and then tasted it again about an hour later. I write this down, because the difference was striking. The first sip offered beautiful and creamy juice with beautiful soft tannin and bitterness, impressive for a Hungarian red wine imho, but not stunning. The second sip, as said an hour later, the wine presented itself completely different; there was luxurious toasted oak, tobacco and cedar. It seemed to be even more full bodied and the fruits more dark. Really very exclusive. I went looking for the bottle to get some more, because I wanted to try again, but unfortunately the bottle was empty. To give myself a reference I want to score this…in the beginning 89 - 90, the second sip 94+. For now I will score it 92, but it could well be this wine deserves a 95. Have to find some bottles.
