September 12, 2019 - 1995 Vintage Champagne horizontal (Medlar (London)): To kick-off our 1995 vertical this was one of the non-blind aperitifs. We had two bottles and both were consistent. And consistently great they were! My surprise of the night this was punching WAY above my expectations. In fact it most certainly was better (at this stage) then the Dom Ruinart we had a few weeks back at the 2002 vertical. In 1995 there was no Dom Ruinart produced btw. Surely nowadays given how houses launch prestige cuvees wherever possible no matter the vintage hard to imagine. Well this baby didn't make me long for a Dom. It was the real deal. Golden hue in the glass, straight from pour lovely glass open and seductive with balance, clarity and fruit and a honeyed note to finish. Also it didn't fall apart even with half an hour in the glass. Wow what a find! Thanks for bringing these two bonus bottles (among many others) Stephen.

March 10, 2019 - From magnum it was gorgeous. Mild, well integrated, pleasant sweet and sour taste, harmonic, mostly PN character is prominent at this point. Excellent complexity.

October 30, 2018 - Ruinart Dinner
This was serve as an Vin Surprise so we have to guess.
I had observed little bubbles and darker shade of yellow.
I guessed 2000 but I was wrong.
Probably looked younger than it was.
This had aged in a very nice way. Toast, Apples and powerful.
Tough fight between the 2004 rose in which is the best for the evening[Late night]. -

June 11, 2016 - There was just a slight dank, mushroomy thing going on that was a bit distracting. Not your full blown tca but something cork derived none the less. Otherwise it was quite fresh and punchy with tarte tatin notes and plenty of mineral. It was rich and textured in the mouth and finished dry and long.

September 21, 2012 - Some depth of golden colour but certainly looks younger than its age, and the mousse is lively. Vinous nose, dominated by mature peach and apple fruit, brioche, toast. Full bodied on the palate, no doubt about it, powerful and mature, with apple, honey, oatmeal, good fine mousse. Long finish, benchmark acidity. This is no shy violet. Great stuff and drinking just perfectly now if you like your charlie mature but with the mousse intact.
