March 23, 2024 - It isn’t maderized, but it’s not sound either. Major bummer

December 31, 2023 - This is what a wine made by a maestro wine maker is all about. This is wine for adults! If you appreciate mature well aged wine then taste this. Initial alcohol rush which evaporates in 20’. Full bodie with layers of taste and distinction. Balanced. Smooth. Sometimes yet a firm introduction of certainty. Great with foods but also stand alone

December 15, 2023 - Popped, poured, consumed over next 90 minutes. This bottle was obviously not correct. Bummer.

September 7, 2023 - My last bottle, and this wine has been a lot of fun to track over the last 15 or so years. Fully mature at this point, with a deep, brooding nose that speaks more of black fruit than red. Lighter on it's feet on the palate, where some tart red fruit peeks through, with decent acidity. Very good.

February 24, 2023 - I'm getting towards the end of a case I bought on release and this wine feels fully mature at this point. Not that it is showing any signs of decline, but I also don't see any further upside to holding this, so if you have it in your cellar, you might want to pull out a bottle to see what you think.

Earthy red & black fruit on the nose, medium-bodied with good persistence on the palate. Very nice.

January 12, 2023 - Beautiful. A lighter style of BdM. Seamless. Fruit is somewhat subdued with savory notes to the fore. Enjoyed with Porcini rubbed Prime Tomahawk ribeye and arugula salad.

October 28, 2022 - Októbersmakk hjá Eðalklúbbnum (Hlíðarás 10): Frekar ljóst. Ryð í lit. Oxunartónar og sveskja í ilmi. Líka leysiefni, UHU lím. Líka oxunartónar í bragði. Sveskja og brúnkaka eru þarna líka. Líklega er nú þetta vín komið yfir toppinn.

September 30, 2021 - Tuscan WIMPS 2021 (La Trompette): Lovely and sensual, well-balanced, with lots of yummy red fruit, but didn't have the impact of a great wine (I can remember the food it accompanied much more clearly!). Elegant, perfectly mature and very enjoyable.

August 13, 2020 - 2nd bottle in the last month - very likable. The nose features earthy red & black fruit. Expansive on the palate - maybe just a little shy on acidity for my palate, but other than that nit, at 15+ years of age, not a lot to complain about ;^)

July 16, 2020 - This leans to the elegant, lighter-bodied, red-fruited side of Brunello - a wine of finesse as opposed to "shock & awe". In my mind, a very traditional take on Sangiovese. And despite this finesse, it also shows the wherewithal to continue aging gracefully at this point. My guess would be 3-5 more years, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone felt 10 years, although my remaining bottles will in all likelihood not last that long.
