October 7, 2011 - 2005 Chateau Fonguillon Saint Emilion... First taste, drinkable, serviceable but rien à écrire sur la maison!

2hours later... Nose diminishing, some good fruit on the front but little on the end, beautiful color that just doesn't deliver hoped for results. This is a good Bord that would service a pizza, or a burger... But would fall flat with a seared steer. 87.

June 1, 2011 - Sandalwood finish but otherwise not particularly compelling.

September 16, 2010 - This is a reasonably priced Bordeaux that had the minerality, fruit, and balance of oak which made the 3 hrs. of getting to know each other a very ejoyable evening. Great value!

May 31, 2010 - color is ruby garnet, med intensity
nose s med intensity, fresh red fruit,
palate: dry, acid is med, tannin med body med alc est 14.5 finish red fruit, med + length

tasted blind and got right bank merlot bordeuax based on
    1. Ow
    2. ripe grapes is south
    3. chocolate = merlot
    4. cab franc element suggests blend

Blind tasted: initially I called a right bank merlot from 2007 so off by 2 years only

: some finesse, med+ length, good not spec intensity, good concentration of fruit, now that it is decanted good typicity of area, flavors a bit weak so can not benefit from further aging starting now

December 8, 2009 - Very classic and classy Bordeaux, but without intensity or depth to make me think this is a keeper for the long haul. Ready to drink now and enjoyable, but lacking a bit in complexity.
