October 8, 2023 - Sunday Northern Rhône Survey (San Francisco): Light ruby with fading- mature looking. Wow, really stemmy compared to the other 3 vintages. Also some citrus and olive on the nose. Medium body, elegant soil base. Leaner feel, more mineral, flavors divided between black fruit and herbal notes, and a bit of warmth. Shorter finish. It feels less integrated than the 2 younger wines, but much better in the mouth than the rather jarring initial scents suggested. I struggled with this wine.

June 19, 2022 - A private dinner at a friend's (Amsterdam, NL): Explosive nose, flowers and bacon, silky and elegant, buttery Viognier, the gentlest of tannins, wonderful flavours. Chef d’oeuvre.

April 10, 2022 - Nice wine, lots of depth but not a lot of complexity. Hope it comes soon as it’s simple now.

April 20, 2020 - Stupendous. An utterly perfect bottle. Sweet strawberries and cream, black cherries, spicy and meaty depth, roses and violets, hint of vanilla, bursting with finesse and intensity, bright and flowing, floral Viognier aromas, light but firm tannins, amazing resonance and length. Leaves the drinker with a sense of wonder.

August 22, 2019 - Blod, rå frukt, røyk, kaffe, kanel. Flotte detaljer, men veldig lukket. Evig lang. Tight og lukket! La ligge. 92-95

May 1, 2019 - Jamet and Rostaing at the Harwood Arms (Harwood Arms, Fulham): Medium garnet. Quite youthful nose, dark fruit, vanilla, light herbal edge. On the palate this is dark fruited vanilla, very composed with soft tannins, balanced acidity and a good length finish.

January 28, 2019 - This is quite lovely and is still showing relatively young; the nose has lovely dark berry fruits with violet, pepper, a bit of smoked meat, and just a hint of garrigue. The palate is supremely elegant and ethereal as you would expect form the Cote Blonde; lovely to sip and paired very well with smoked pork ribs.

Night 2 this is still delicious. A little bit of olive tapenade developing, still lovely dark brambly fruit, pepper and spice. Should have at least a good 8-10 years of delicious drinking ahead.

November 20, 2018 - Curious nose. Vaguely chemical, high VA; fully mature palate. Sweet. A bit hollow.

November 20, 2018 - Tasted next to 2017 Côte Blonde and Côte Brune. On the nose surprisingly herbaceous, stalky, almost green, notes of black pepper, ripe red and dark fruit, smoke. On the palate fresh, lovely fruit, still rather serious tannic structure, very vibrant and elegant. Very long. I can't say I was overly keen on the nose, but the rest was quite impressive. Drink or keep. 91-93
