April 1, 2017 - Realized I had this in the cellar and this app told me it was 7 years past drink date. I aerated and it was good. Any longer and it would have turned bad.
April 24, 2010 - Fairly tight dusty berry nose. Some nice rich brambly fruit on the attack and mid-palate, but the finish is marred by some harsh and bitter acidity that took away most of the enjoyment of this bottle.
January 29, 2010 - Muted fruit, but balanced. Good value
January 23, 2010 - Italian Varietals from WA/OR/CA and Italy...Blind; 1/23/2010-1/24/2010 (Eastside Wine Storage): nose: cooked fruit, some greenery
palate: very soft (in comparison to the aglianico, which means very little) some greens, medium tannin, berry-like fruit. I guessed dolcetto, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. It was OK.
January 4, 2010 - quite heavily oaked; but underneath is less of ripe and extracted fruit and more of fresh (sour) red berries; which on the one hand is refreshing but on the other give you the feeling of heavy handed winemaking.
May 19, 2009 - Not for wine snobs (you know who you are). What I expected. Fairly fruity, mildly complex, Zin-like, hearty Italian wine that washed down pasta with sausage and tomato sauce very much to my satisfaction. Compared to a Copollo "Rosso" I had recently, this is like Godfather I compared to Godfather III. Good QPR.
February 5, 2009 - Jammy blueberry, with some black pepper and clove. A little bit thin on the palate. Very hot on short finish.
February 4, 2009 - A bit thin and flat on flavor. Very subtle spice. Will taste again later today against another primotivo. $10 a bottle.
