October 1, 2021 - So silky and elegant at this point. A joy to drink. I wish I had cases.

October 18, 2020 - Deep garnet with tertiary development to the bouquet
Cedarwood, underbrush, dried earth and liquorice pair up with blackcurrant, raspberry, and an interesting roasted herbs note. In the background lurk some light tobacco whiffs, raisin and dried spices.
Dry cocoa powder texture is partners a rather low acid on entry and lots of baked fruit indicative of the hot 2003 vintage. Full-bodied, the wine is powerful but feels a little extracted and very generous. An edge of wet clay gives succour to the mid-palate with some chocolate drops. Resolved, sinewy tannins and a medium-long finish, the wine seems a little dried up—Leaden-footed and pondering. -

A Cru Bourgeois Exceptional of 16 years, 75% of the original fruit, fruity and empyreumatic aroma, superb balance Fruits / Tannin / Acidté, a finesse and angelic sweetness not to disturb with food. If your friends are like Blockbuster, this is to drink at 2; you and the bottle. -

February 2, 2019 - The good is a pleasant flowery nose and persistent fruit with pleasant cedar notes. However, the fruit is pushed aside by the tannin and the mouth feel is unbalanced toward acidity on the palate.
Wish I could imagine this would pair with burgers or pizza now or that the components will integrate with time. -

September 2, 2018 - Pretty much never seen a temp above 47 degrees since acquisition upon release. Very black fruit cabby on the nose and on the palate. Very smooth and juicy across the palate but all in all a bit on the simple side. Goes down real easy. Great with burgers tonight. Still has an acid backbone, so will keep for a good number of years. Fits the profile of many 2003's. Lack nuance, lacks complexity, but goes down as a really tasty juicy, albeit simple, drink.
