Community Tasting Notes 8

November 26, 2013 - Quite tight and closed, both on it's own and with braised beef (after 30 minute decant). Dry dark cherry and cranberry, quite muted and dry furit, some oak, tannin. Good mouthfeel and on palate but lacks aromatics. Closed.

September 8, 2012 - Hard to rate this as completely outperformed by a 2001 Rioja Reserva served, with this, alongside some lamb. The Rioja was only £5 more but a world apart. This St Emilion is ok - a bit dull and drying but in isolation would probably work.

August 5, 2012 - Was not expecting much from this, but was pleasantly surprised, a lighter fruity styled Bordeaux, pop and pour! Enjoy!

April 19, 2012 - Wine Education Service - Bordeaux - The Right Bank (Imperial College): Youthful, just opaque.
Typical nose, laid back fruit, some oak.
Luscious fruit, plenty of tannin not fully softened, mellow mid palate, balanced, complex, excellent.

March 29, 2012 - Straight from bottle. Quite dry & tannic but still a good, sturdy claret for the price, probably has another 5-8 years in it. Begins to open up after 30-40 mins with some nice fruit. This is good value.
