Very evolved and rich
June 16, 2020 - Dark gold, honey notes, orange peel, oxy-nutty, honey nut cheerios in fact, soft medium acidity, very interesting slightly bitter finish, like old grapefruit rind or something. Past it's prime but still has character. Nutty but not fully oxidized. A few people really liked this. DD tasting blind Malibu.
*Note: Previous bottle tasted last year seemed to be in much better shape.
November 25, 2019 - Caramel, roasted nuts, nectarine pit, sweet richness with elevated acidity, juicy and mouthwatering, complex and long. Really liked the age on this which turned slightly rich, ripe and tangy on the palate. Capital Seafood for DD.
December 29, 2018 - Honeyed peach, mineral, a little nutty, bright and a little tart on the palate with good weight. I liked it much than most of the others at the tasting.
January 16, 2013 - Bummer for us. Waited too long and the fruit was gone. Tossed the bottle.
October 6, 2010 - Nice golden yellow, nose full of tropical fruit, a very big white wine that is not my style but drinking very well.
October 23, 2008 - Over the hill, shot. Made a beeline for the dump bucket
February 2, 2003 - Drinking well now. Flavors of wax and honey. Some felt it showed some "woodiness".
January 2, 2002 - ($65) Not as intense and flavorful as the bottle I tasted a couple years back. I suspect this one suffered too long on a retailer's shelf. Nice Sauvignon Blanc nonetheless, but lacking in much distinction particularly for the sticker price ($65). Awfully glad I paid less, in fact would not buy it at full price.
