Community Tasting Notes 5

March 5, 2022 - This was better than the bottle I had in 2020. Holding well in his maturity phase, superb QPR

December 11, 2021 - Sumptuous texture, balanced tannins.

Gentle liquorice develops after decanting. Maybe tobacco leaf or perhaps soft leather.

Deep and dark in colour and great layers on the palate; fruit and tertiary in harmony. Interesting, drinkable and very decent stuff.

April 22, 2020 - Moulinet-Lasserre is Clos René and Clos René is Moulinet-Lasserre. They are one and the same (Clos René bottles a small proportion of their production under this label for the negociant J.P. Moueix as an exclusivity).

The wine: nice and gentle Pomerol. Bouquet with aromas of kirsch, leather, incense. The palate has abundance of ripe plummy fruit and raspberries. Very suave claret with mannered tannins. Decent QPR for a good fully mature wine. Enjoy now.

November 30, 2019 - Smoke, prunes and black cherries with a hint of coffe and sweetness, followed by long smooth tannins. Smooth and almost oily with acidity and balance. A touch of saltiness on the finish. Delicious.

June 16, 2019 - Decanted 3 hours. Distinctive Cabernet Franc nose with dusty graphite and violets. In the mouth merlot is prominent. Toasted oak, black cherries, cacao. Good acidity and length, smooth and delicious.
