November 20, 2014 - Very fruity and smooth....not unpleasant but very uninspiring. Very grape-juicy with barely a trace of tannin, mineral, earth, or sense of place. A bit too sweet for my taste. I think this is probably nearing the end, so drink up. Did not do much for the steak at dinner, but an excellent wine with a dark chocolate dessert.

July 13, 2012 - In the bouquet dark fruits like plums and black forest fruits. Mostly ripe black forest fruits on the palate as well. Some sweet as well as salty licorice. There is some pleasant oak and a good balance between sweetness and acidity. Ready now and the next 2 years.

January 21, 2012 - 89 En plenitud. En nariz es austero, predominando la crianza sobre la fruta. En boca se muestra muy equilibrado, con taninos golosos y muy suaves. Un muy buen vino al que hay que darle tiempo hasta que madura.

July 5, 2011 - Very earthy and dark cherries on the nose. Thin and a bit unbalanced on the palate but still enjoyable. Weekday pour.

September 2009 (link)(Quinta do Crasto, Douro) This wine echoes the classic blend of Port: Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca, and Touriga Nacional. The 20-year-old vines, planted on the schist soils of the Douro, produce wines of complexity, depth, and great flavor. While decidedly Old World in style, the Quinta do Crasto shows a freshness and ripeness that suggest a New World edge. There is a delicious commingling of red and black fruits, with an accent of spicy herb tones that linger on the finish. Hot Picks
