Community Tasting Notes 5

October 15, 2023 - Very nice nose with notes of red cherries, underwood, mushroom, strawberries, and candied fruit. Good acidity, fully integrated on the palate, tart berries, raspberries, cherries, and forest notes on the palate. Nice finish. Very enjoyable wine, fully matura at this point, but still has some life left.

August 5, 2020 - Elegant and soft Morgon which showed an interesting pinot noir profile. Floral (violets) with nice fruit and spices.
    Drink up.

October 7, 2017 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Very reductive. This was popped-and-poured, and certainly needed more air. Clearly lots of good substance here, and the reduction seems to have kept it fresh. Completely unable to assess under the time constraint of our table tasting.

September 2, 2009 - This one in some ways was the most interesting with dill, olive, violet, but again just beautiful. A bit dusty in the nose. More subdued than the last two and a little spikey, without the depth of tannin, and less acid, but still a fine wine. Some felt this was the candidate for the long haul but in my mind that goes to the 96. And with my last sip - definitely.
