September 23, 2018 - Only half an hour in glass and it opened perfectly. In palate there was licorice, pencil and overripe plums. Drink now, don´t wait.

July 13, 2018 - Very mature. Aromatically still very interesting. Classic left bank notes with quite some funk to it. Soft acidity and tannins in the mouth. Lacking aromas and finishing on the alcohol. Drink up quickly.

November 18, 2017 - Sopii hyvin kypsien & kovien juustojen, sekä laadukkaan lihan kanssa.

July 5, 2017 - Cru Bourgeois, 12,5% alcohol, 5,2 g/l acidity. Served blind.
Luminous garnet red color with some translucency. Quite expressive and somewhat earthy nose with some egg notes of reduction trying to hide aromas of ripe blackcurrants, some loamy soil, a little bit of mushroomy sous-bois, hints of wizened black fruits and a touch of fresh, tart red fruits. Unfortunately the nose closes up quite quickly, becoming almost mute and not opening again later on. The wine is dry, austere and medium-bodied on the palate with moderately high acidity and flavors of woody spice, blackcurrant-driven crunchy dark berries, some tart red currant character, a little bit of graphite and a touch of licorice. The structure relies mainly on the acidity, as the tannins feel pretty soft and well-manicured. The finish is a bit hard and angular with long, dry and a bit austere flavors of fresh blackcurrants, some leafy greenness, a little bit of woody bitterness and a hint of graphite. The tannins lend a very lightly gripping touch to the aftertaste.
A nicely evolved, classic Bordeaux that seems to have reached its apogee. Also wine that many recognized as a Bordeaux quite instantly; several of these also guessed correctly that the wine was a Left-Banker. There is some fruit left to the wine, so it hasn't withered out and died out completely, but the non-fruit characteristics are starting to take over the fruitier aspects. As the fruit itself feels already quite dry and savory (as opposed to ripe), I wouldn't hold on to these bottles much longer. Keeping them for a few more years might be already pushing it; based on how the wine seemed to evolve and then shut down in the glass doesn't promise much cellaring-wise. A nice little wine for 29,93€, but nothing truly memorable. Priced more or less according to its quality.2 people found this helpful Comment
