December 24, 2023 - For the last fast of Advent I wanted a PN that goes with salmon raviolis with Alfredo sauce. This wine was fantastic. Balanced, light but with a complete range of flavors. Most enjoyable. The fruity cloying flavors for which this vintage is known are long gone leaving a great balanced wonderful wine.

Oregon Pinot Noir is grossly underrated. Others think this wine should have been consumed 6 years or more ago. I have found that well made Oregon Pinot Noir is often still developing at its “end” date. I would not want to keep this wine a lot longer past now, but it would not surprise me if someone opens a bottle in a decade and has a similar opinion then to mine today.

September 28, 2019 - Black berries throughout with dark chocolate and baking spice hints. Good+ balance and good depth. Still drinking amazingly well for a $20 bottle pre-release from the winery.

July 26, 2017 - Black berries throughout with savory spice hints and very good balance. Slightly fresher vs another bottle from earlier this year, but still best to enjoy by 2018 or so.

May 14, 2017 - Drank alongside the Broadley 2008 Reserve. Mature black berries with spice hints and moderate weight and length. Much like another bottle from a year ago.

September 19, 2016 - Black berries with spice and cocoa hints. Moderate weight, very good balance. A simple, but very good $20 bottle of wine. Did not fade over the 3 hours open, but still probably best to drink in the next year or two.

October 16, 2015 - Black berry and cherry with cocoa and liqueur hints. Modest spice throughout. At very good place right now, slightly more mature than i expected, so best through 2017.

May 8, 2013 - Black cherry and blackberry aromas with some sweet baking spice and dark chocolate aromas. Overall very fresh start, lots of intense and concentrated black fruit flavors. Slightly sweet finish right now, I'd expect this will soften and harmonize a little more in another year or two. A great wine bargain again this vintage.

February 19, 2011 - The Wine Club SF 2008 Oregon Pinot Tasting (San Francisco): Nose and palate of black cherries. Good body (light but solid). Low nose. 83

January 21, 2011 - Hints of cedar, pencil lead and earthy mushroom on the nose. Beautiful visual clarity...dark purple beauty. This would go great with a mushroom risotto, pasta with wild mushrooms or broiled pork loin. It is light enough to carry any of these dishes but not heavy enough for a steak.
Has all the components for a food friendly wine. Nice acidity, balanced fruit and very light tannins.
    Great price point too.

July 27, 2010 - Opened and poured, this wine showed well and provides good value. The aromatics need about fifteen to thirty minutes to show their best but airing reveals red cherry, raspberry, wood and floral notes. The color is a medium ruby that is youthful and correct. The medium bodied palate shows balance and subtle tannins reveal themselves on the medium length finish. This drinks nicely now and may benefit from a year of additional bottle age.
