December 22, 2008 - Honeymoon in South Africa; 12/16/2008-12/23/2008 (Londolozi, Cape Town, Constantia, Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschoek - South Africa): A nice Sauv Blanc. Pale yellow gold with green flecks - this was doing a NZ impression. Clean and crisp palate, lower notes of breadfruit along with bright green guava and fresh passionfruit flavours. The palate was nicely fresh as well, but with a serious, minerally backbone to its grass and hay tones. Sappy finish, with ripe gooseberries. Nice cleaness just slightly marred by a touch of heat.
