February 21, 2024 - A fabulous Brunello in its 30th year.... An ideal complement to a Bistec Florentino. Just gorgeous, tannins resolved, but still has back bone. Luscious cherry. Wow!

October 30, 2023 - Not a big BdM drinker, but quite enjoyed this (I’ve got good record with ‘95s- not as lean as ‘96, not as uberripe as ‘97). Black cherry, espresso, orange zest. Medium bodied, balanced acids, nice length. Sorry last bottl.e B+/A-

May 15, 2021 - Lovely after 26 years. Almost a rust colored brick in the glass. Muted red cherry and strawberry fruit has mostly given way to the tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, earth, red licorice, and stewed tomatoes. Flavor profile is definitely there if you're a older Brunello fan like I am but drink now over the next few years.

March 29, 2021 - A nicely aged Brunello that shows nice aromas of earth, mushrooms and still has good fruit. The tannins are smooth at this point with slight grip at the end. I would suggest drinking now if you have any left!

October 7, 2016 - Decanted off the sediment. Medium red with pale mahogany edge. Blood, leather and cherry, cherry syrup nose. Bright, lifted cherry, leather and then savoury flavours. Medium body, Bordelaise in structure. Fresh and good for at least another 10 years, at least in this cool Canadian cellar.

December 28, 2015 - Weekly tasting group #198; a mixed set of more or less special wines. (@ DJ): The color is quite transparent red brown with a clearly garnet rim. In the bouquet mature red berries, earth, truffle, leather, coffee, tobacco and iodine. On the palate a beautiful and refined wine with chocolate, earth, autumn forest and still some cherry impressions. Beautiful acidity and soft tannin. Overall a beautifully mature and complex wine. Completely ready now and probably wise to drink it over the next 2 years. 92 – 93

September 1, 2015 - Explosive floral bouquet on this bottle. Very elegant, with expansive perfumed floral notes and silky red fruit. Really beautiful after about an hour of time in the decanter. Very pleased with this bottle. Drink through 2023.

February 25, 2015 - This wine simply does not taste 20 years old. Had I been served this wine blind, I would have perhaps guessed it was a 2005 or 2006 vintage, but certainly not 10 years older than that. This wine was incredibly tightly wound and quite closed with unexpectedly youthful tannins. A touch higher acidity would be nice, but given the vintage and Lisini's Sant'Angelo in Colle location, it's exactly what you'd expect. While there is a core of fruit remaining in this wine, it's quite obscured by the tight tannic structure at this point. Opened and tasted, then decanted, this wine started to open up after about an hour; I'd therefore recommend decanting an hour or so prior to serving. (90-91 pts)

November 28, 2013 - AFter 3-4 hours of decanting this wine opened wonderfully and paired beautifully with a pork roast and squash risotto. Tannins had mellowed but fill of fruit flavor and structure with a great finish.
