March 18, 2023 - Brick color, a little light body but still paired nicely with prime New York steak. Fairly short finish, but opened up after a bit. Some fig and chocolate notes. Oddly, also paired well with Tiramisu! Probably a little past its peak so drink now if you have any.

March 3, 2018 - Medium body, dark fruit, earth, mushroom. Was delicious with Australian Wagyu filet mignon with she tried wild mushrooms and blue cheese foam.

October 14, 2016 - This is drinking well and probably at peak of development. Tannnins are fully integrated, acid is medium. Everything seems in balance. Some tertiaries are popping. Sous-bois, mushrooms, some tree trunk notes. Finish is long. No reason to wait any longer; there's nothing to improve.

April 25, 2014 - Popped and poured. This got better and better as it opened up over an hour. Rich and dark fruited, earthy, and just delicious. Drink now or over the next ten years.

November 1, 2007 - Punes and wood on the nose and palate. Lacked complexity. Not a profound wine, but drink well now

October 22, 2007 - Once a Month begins with Nebbiolo; 10/20/2007-10/22/2008 (NYC): This offered a great contrast to the Conterno with it's open nose balancing sweet, slightly pruny fruit with a gentle wood spice. Offering a bright entry with excellent acidity this was eminently drinkable and approaching peak if a touch monolithic and dilute through the midpalate with a bit of astringency breaking through leading to a medium length finish that was long if simple. Solid wine for drinking over the short term

    July 24, 2003 - Italy
Served at the July 23rd North Texas Winos Tasting Dinner at Amici’s Signature Italian in Carrollton, Texas. Opened and served without decanting. Big, bold wine with an oaky nose of spice and mocha. Flavors of red licorice, sweet cherry with a definite meatiness. Balanced. 93 points. Should hold a least 2 more years. This is a keeper. Very enjoyable.
