September 11, 2021 - My dad brought me this wine from Italy. He said that an Italian general who was an old friend gifted it to him.

It was an interesting wine. Nose of caramel, port and hints of cherry. This was almost like a fortified wine. It held well but began disintegrating after the first hour.

November 16, 2015 - Has an earthy streak on the palate and some VA/paint on the nose. Matt gets hint of prune. Stuart calls it cooked fruit. Bob says basement with a window with sunlight coming thru (lumerati). I don't know what that means. As this airs, it cleans up. More blackberry and streamlined, leaner palate. Lunch at Le Perigord.

July 12, 2015 - The only reason this wine couldn't go ANOTHER 10 years was the cork. Tannin was still strong. The aroma was that of living, late summer, night time deciduous forest. The flavor was that of dark red cherries and an old brick shed.

January 13, 2015 - 39 years old and in excellent condition. Reminded me of mature Bordeaux. Has lots of life left. Full bodied. Still some tannin. Leather, cassis, cedar. What a nice surprise.
