June 29, 2013 - Surprised by how well this has held up; this is still a very attractive wine. Delicate, flowery nose. Color is still clear, bright ruby, a bit on the paler side of the spectrum. Fruit is still there and still fresh, with strawberry notes dominating an underlying earthiness I found to be quite attractive. A simple, rustic wine with no claims to greatness, but quite tasty, and for a base level wine to show this well after nine years is a tribute to Alex Gambal's wine making skills. A real "wish I had another bottle" wine.

(Maison Alex Gambal Bourgogne) Pale pink red color; intriguing sweet strawberry and caramel oak nose; tight, one-dimensional tart red fruit palate; short finish
