November 20, 2021 - A very interesting Napa Valley super Tuscan blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Sangiovese, and 11% Petit Verdot. The 1st of 4 bottles recently acquired as part of a much larger cellar contents purchase. Delicious and drinking beautifully right now, highly recommend and although this wine is not tired or fading at all there probably is no further upside to further cellaring and this is definitely a drink not hold wine at this point. Oak, tannins and acid all very well integrated but there is enough of a fruit core left that it has probably another 3-5 years left before starting to fall off. Warm nose of dark fruit including plum, vanilla and a floral note. Dark purple, minimal peripheral bricking, soft mouth feel yet a big wine, long aftertaste and very smooth. Flavor profile more secondary with dark fruit and then a more cedar then oaky woody note, tar, grilled meat and garrigue on the late palate.

February 24, 2021 - Deep ruby, with blood garnet hue. Nose mainly of darkish prunes and cinnamon, and hints if barbecued meat. Tannins mostly resolved albeit with a slight bite, full bodied, with some black peat, and prunes, as well as some barbecue and Hoisin sauce, then graphite. Rather upfront, with at most a medium complexity the back palate. Perhaps age has caught up with it

January 10, 2019 - Pretty delicious Napa cab at age 20. Very easy going. Good black cherry, leather and bell pepper. It is just pretty lip smackingly good. Knowing that it has Sangiovese in it makes me think of some delisious super tuscans. Yummy stuff.

November 1, 2013 - Recently purchased this through an online reseller of purchased collections and wasn't sure how it would turn out... I was impressed.
A funky nose blew off after 15 min or so and revealed a very lively 15-yr old wine. The dominant aroma and flavor was anise, with black cherry, leather, and tobacco along for the ride. This wine constantly changed in the glass as I couldn't decide if the 64% cab or 25% sangiovese was the dominant component. Textured yet elegant, this is drinking incredibly well right now. It also paired very, very well with lamb shoulder in a kalamata olive tomato sauce.

May 10, 2013 - - Garnet color with fast forming legs. It's balanced with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a long finish - Gave this wine as a BD present 2011. Never have tasted this wine, even though I have 8 bottles and 1 3L bottle dating from 1996. THey had opened the bottle 750ml about an hour before we arrived. They were quite disappointed with and thought about pouring it out. I tasted it after 2 hrs breathing and was very surprised about their initial eval. When I tasted it was wonderful
