December 14, 2023 - CdB Committee Meeting: Dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour. Very dark fruit, this is good, yet it still feels rather youthful. Tight knit and dense, with a full body, cassis, boysenberry, lots of mineral notes, some earth and dried herbs with a oak on the finish and a dried violet kicker. Very good. 92(+)pts.

November 6, 2023 - Great brunello and time to drink up. Very dark colour, better as the night went on (I didn’t decant). Still has some fruit while tertiary tastes are starting to overtake

September 29, 2023 - Tuscany WIMPS 2023 (La Trompette): This was actually my backup to the Mastrojanni but was opened in error and so we happily had to have this now. A single bottle i own of this and first time having their Brunello.
The nose is quite dark with evolved fruit some acceptable funkiness (light VA and perhaps brett) that gets better with air. On the palate this delivered a distinct dried cherry cough linctus flavour that I like a lot with good depth and complexity. Tannins still present on the finish which puts this in a spot of having some good tertiary evolution with some good structure still present.
Good but for the price point not sure best VFM -

September 23, 2023 - Perhaps a bit on the dry side tonight. Still a lovely bottle of Brunello. Would drink up now to retain fruit.

June 16, 2023 - Brunello 2004 Horisontal (My House): Juicy and clean dark cherry fruit with an amazing flavor depth.
Stunning intensity and still very young despite the lush profile. An incredible spicy and juicy long aftertaste.
For me, this was definitely one of the best wines of the tasting! Stunning and incredibly refined with an amazing intensity!2 people found this helpful Comment
