May 22, 2020 - A fine 2006. Fragrant red cherry and hints of blueberry. Very good precision and length; no excess fat here. One hour decant was sufficient to open up. Held together very well over another two hours of drinking.

June 9, 2017 - Another lovely wine from Raphet - red fruit, good balance, wonderful mouth feel, beautiful nose and a long finish

December 22, 2012 - This was showing very well (many 2006 Burgs are, even at a Grand Cru level), with a floral and red berry nose, nice balance, good integration, spicy palate and medium-long finish. Perhaps a little on the overt side, with some slight candied aspects on the palate and a very faint note of cola...but it is 2006 after all! I don't think this will make really old bones, but it will likely improve with another 5 years in the cellar. Quite a remarkable value - I think the tasting group were surprised that this was significantly under $100.

December 20, 2012 - Pre-Christmas get-together at 13C (Vancouver, BC): My notes for this wine read: floral with good depth and texture; showing well and a nice burg qpr; good but needs 3-5 years. For a more detailed description of the wine, see Blair’s and Matt’s tasting notes. Excellent. 90+

December 20, 2012 - Superb nose with plenty of complexity kicking off tons of violet floral aromas, along with red cherries, some blueberries and blackberries, and a hint of black pepper spice. The floral notes follow through to the palate, along with plenty of ripe boysenberries, black cherries, pomegranate, and asphalt. A nice dose of acidity pairs well with the dusty tannins. A long length finish ending on notes of boysenberries and pomegranate. Despite it's youth this was extremely pleasurable already. Great texture in the mouth with plenty of Chambertin character. With at least a few more years to come together this will be even better. Very good+

(Gérard Raphet Charmes-Chambertin Cuvée Unique) Light red color; intriguing dried cherry, black cherry nose; tasty, tart cherry palate with some cedary background oak, needs to knit together yet; medium finish
