December 24, 2021 - Hit of the night. About as good as you can hope for. Lacked some length in finish but wonderful while it lasted. Black and red stone fruit combined with wonderfully enticing barnyard secondary notes. Want to find a case of this to drink over the next decade.

December 22, 2021 - What a beautiful wine. Popped the cork at 1pm to sloOx and then decanted into a small decanter at 5pm. Decanted slowly back into the bottle at 6pm and started drinking at 6:30. It was fantastic. Classic BDX nose, full and well balanced pallet with beautiful fruit, subdued oak, very settled tannins with a lot of complexity, and a long terroir filled finish. Part of a six bottle blind tasting and this fooled nobody. It's exactly what it should be and where it should be. Will hold for another 10 years but can't imagine it getting much better.

December 20, 2021 - 11x Bdx & Bdx Blends from around the World: Tasted double blind. The first two glasses showed incredibly well: nice intensity, good complexity, high precision, impeccable structure and balance. A textbook left bank Cabernet, already full of seductive teritary notes, fresh and luxurious with that touch of masculinity that can be found in Pauillacs or St. Juliens. This bottle showed much better, more open and mature than a bottle in a large horizontal tasting 6 months ago were it got an average rating of the group of 91.6 pts (and an even 89 pts from me, also tasted blind). Another glass at the end of the evening showed less impressive and precise than the first glasses and was closer to that first experience. Anyway, this wine as it showed in the beginning was very much on the heels of the legendary 1982.

TN: Almost perfect nose full of truffles, fresh dark fruit, so precise and inviting, super clean. Wow. Dark and sexy. On the palate this continues with ripe dark fruit, truffles, forest floor, minerality, herbs. Complex, superbly precise, super clean. The wine is very light, almost weightless, with ultra fine tannins, a perfectly integrated medium+ acidity, the prefect amount of creaminess and medium- long, fine finish. Prtobably a touch too short to get to the 97 pts. The balance is impeccable. You could drink liters of that.

Decanting: I don’t believe this has been decanted. Good from the go and better than after some hours of air.

Group rank (9 ppl.): 1st out of 10 wines

December 15, 2021 - Tasted as part of 2000 Bordeaux dinner tasting at Biffs. My wine of the night. I would call this to be on the young side of the sweet spot. No detailed notes taken, but overall impression balance, flavour intensity and purity. Kept improving as the night went on.

    December 4, 2021 - Weinkongress 2021 (Restaurant Sonne Leuggern): - tasted blind
    - Nose: intense, complex nose with first notes of ripeness. Red fruit of strawberries, red plums and also dark fruits, especially plums and some berries. Vanilla, leather and damp leaves! Wow, wow, wow. Extremely filigree and every aroma is precisely discernible. Multilayered!
    - Palate: Medium alcohol, nice intense fresh fruit and good acidity structure (medium +) carried through the whole palate. Velvety tannins and very long on the finish with an engaging complexity.
    - After about an hour in the glass, Gr. Larose loses some pressure but overall awesome to drink. Can be stored for a few more years but is already a real pleasure to drink.
