October 9, 2019 - Ready to drink, this is not one of the great years for the estate, but even so there glimpses of its first growth status. The nose is full of dark berry fruits with tobacco and cigar box, and is deep and appealing. The palate is robust, but very well balanced and deep with an excellent finish of almost 60 seconds, and in complete harmony. My only barrier to a higher rating is a lightness and lack of real depth mid palate. There is no rush to drink this and it should stay here for a decade or two, and maybe improve.

June 26, 2019 - I am tempted to add another point. The wine has filled out over the past few years. Medium/full bodied, soft, ripe, dark red fruits with all the smoke, thyme, cigar wrapper, wet earth and forest floor required, this is really in a great place for current drinking. The bottle was popped about one early before consumption.

April 22, 2019 - Bright cherry. Slight bit of iron on mid palate. Feminine and medium bodied.

January 12, 2019 - Good potential but very firm out of 375ml. Very dark charred black fruits with good spices & loads of structure. Wil structure outlast the fruit?

Update: stuck half of the bottle in a cold fridge until 2/1/19 and wine was drinking very nicely. Dark zippy early black stone fruits in a firm, yet friendly frame. A solid 92 points still!

January 6, 2019 - 13% ABV. Aromas of smoke, pipe tobacco, leather and violets practically jump out of the glass. In the mouth, there is medium body, a mix of red and black fruits, and a gentle grip on the long, resonant, refreshing finish. Perhaps not a blockbuster like some other vintages at this address, but a wonderful wine nonetheless. 93.

(Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan) CS 42%, M 50%, CF 8%. Dark, not opaque, fading gently out towards the rim. It has an appealing nose, with bright fruit, dark cherries, and fresh minerals. It is very pretty, and certainly enticing. Fresh and clean on the palate, minerally, with bright and crunchy fruit. There is some flesh, building on the midpalate, showing good grip combined with good acidity. It all hangs together very nicely, and although inferior to some other vintages tasted this will be approachable for drinking with pleasure very soon I think. Delightful.
