December 10, 2021 - From a bottle purchased upon release and cellared under ideal conditions, this wine was double-decanted, allowing three hours in decanter prior to funneling back into the rinsed bottle. It was then presented to our tasting group in a holiday luncheon setting. A blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc, it is deep garnet in color at this stage. Highly aromatic, it offers a nice core of black fruit that is accented with notes of lavender, leather, violets, gingerbread and coriander. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13%) and with fully assimilated oak, it delivers flavors in line with the aromas, adding hints of cocoa. The tannins have shed any astringency at this point, making the wine very soft-textured. Layered on the mid-palate and long on the back end, this is showing beautifully at this point, but clearly has enough fruit and structure to provide pleasure throughout the decade. Be sure to decant it off its sediment and give it a couple of hours in decanter if possible. Drink now-2030.

August 25, 2021 - Decanted for 2 hours. Smooth with dedicated bouquet, with hint of black fruit, leather and slight game in the nose. The palate is medium body red fuit, with some complexity with medium finishing. It involved overtime but not obvious. Still very smooth and nice to drink now

April 28, 2021 - Last tasted 19 months ago, this has further evolved and I personally feel that it has hit its optimum drinking window, but it should stay here for the next decade. It is not one of the great years for the estate, but it is still a top notch wine. The nose is reticent and somewhat light, and doesn't really give a lot away. However, the palate is full of dark berry fruits , tobacco and cigar box and well balanced, but perhaps lacking depth mid palate. The finish is the highlight and it is exceptional and is 60+ seconds, and is perfectly balanced with great depth. If it was about last impressions this would easily score 3 or 4 points higher. A couple of hours in the decanter is adequate. 93+

October 16, 2020 - Consumed almost four hours from bottle open, including decant time.

Ox- blood in color, with bricking rim
Dried fruit, ( figs, apples, plums), leather notes, iodine and pencil lead.

Oh my, how smooth is this. Perfectly balanced, medium plus finish. Taste follows the nose. Dry forest floor.

What a sensational wine. So damn good.
