January 22, 2017 - forgot I had several of these in the cellar. Pleasantly surprised. Nicely integrated and balanced at this point. Drink up. A wine that outperforms its price point.

April 30, 2011 - Big oaky and tanniny. For the price is very, very good. Can compete up to the $30 price point. Is it stellar? No, but good value for money.

December 25, 2010 - There is just no way this will get enough cellar time. That's the bane of reasonably priced wine...

October 17, 2010 - This is coming around. Tannins have calmed down and are becoming pleasant. Another year and this is ready, methinks

October 11, 2010 - Same as previous note. Noticed more pronounced acidity and alcohol levels in this bottle. I think a little more time will be of some benefit. i will wait another year for the next one.

April 3, 2010 - Good varietal character, body and fruit well balanced. Just nothing exceptional to merit a higher score, but nice cab for the (low) price

February 24, 2010 - This has evolved from my first bottle a year ago. Upon opening I noted an abundance of cherry fruit forward, almost sweet...but where had the tannins gone? After a two hour decant, everything came back together. The fruit and sweetness had mellowed and the tannins reemerged...albeit at a much more moderate level. The second day..even better. The wine became much more integrated with a nice balance of fruit, tannins and slight oak..making for a medium bodied wine with a rich mouth feel. I am surprised this has come along so fast. I would recommend that this wine be consumed over the next 5 years...since it is drinking well now.

February 14, 2010 - Not a lot of love for this wine on CT. No wonder as its billing is a little cheesy. However, for the $16 I paid, I really like what I got. This is a big wine (not huge, but big), with enough oak to satisfy my building needs. I gave it a 2 hour decant: Red berries and some black pepper on the nose. On the palate this is quite concentrated still, and the acid levels are a tad high. I did not find the tannins overly intrusive, though they were certainly present. Given time, I think the various components will integrate and develop into quite a pleasant wine. I won't open another bottle for at least a year, though.

April 29, 2009 - This wine is young and needs time to settle down but I can see where this is going. I would give it a few years in the cellar to soften it out and let it develop. It is going to be a very impressive wine with rich fruit and balance once the tannins moderate and even out. I would buy more.
