June 27, 2013 - Medium-bright yellow color. Aromas of peach, grilled pineapple, and brown butter. Palate has bitter vanilla, pear, pineapple, and some lemon pith that leads into a medium finish. Toasty, nutty elements emerge with time in the glass. This bottle lacks brightness from last bottle. Drink.

June 19, 2013 - Tasting great right now. Reticent nose. Broad texture. Subtle pear skin and yellow apple. Very good cling to the palate with just enough acidity to maintain freshness.

March 25, 2012 - Lemon to gold in color, with medium depth. Nose of golden delicious apples, tropical fruits, with some caramel and buttered popcorn. The nose is developed. The palate is consistent with the nose. The acidity, alcohol, body and flavor intensity are all medium plus. It has plenty of oak, but is not over the top and over-oaked like some California Chardonnays can be. I really like these unfiltered Chardonnays from RRV. Drink now or over the next couple of years. I don't think it has enough acidity to stay balanced over the long haul. This is a good cocktail wine and a good pairing for rich appetizers.

December 29, 2011 - A very good to excellent example of CA chardonnay. Pale yellow in color. Good citrus with a hint of tropical fruits and apple on the nose and palate. Enough minerality and acidity to balance the fruit with just a hint of oak to add a bit of spice.

December 14, 2011 - Excellent. Light but certainly not hollow or uninteresting.

May 16, 2011 - Bright yellow color. Aromas of grilled pineapple, toasted hazelnuts, vanilla, and apple. Palate of butterscotch, vanilla, toasted hazelnuts, with a honeysuckle/yellow apple finish that is medium in length with a bit of heat that appears at the end. Some buttered popcorn and truffle elements lurk in the background to give some additional complexity and depth. This is good now and should drink well for a few more years. Drink or hold for more advanced flavors.

May 15, 2011 - Nice and smooth with a velvet feel on the palate. A bit of white fruit on the nose. Nicely balance on the palate. Some buttered popcorn, but not too much. Pleasant finish.

February 13, 2011 - Thisi s a great chard, I actually prefer it to the estate bottled. Some might say it is simpler than that bottling, but I appreciate how approachable it is. It's on the lighter, crisper side. Lots of melon and apple on the nose.

January 6, 2011 - Nice wine. A sharp, flinty style as opposed to oaky (I believe this is the intent of the See's Select vs. the normal estate bottling.) I've enjoyed this bottling for the last few vintages. Excellent.
