March 16, 2024 - 2000 Chateau La Tour Haut Brion

    Acquired in 2010; Enjoyed March 12-14, 2024
Purple core with slight lightening at the rim. Nose of black fruit and tertiary elements. The palate revealed rich, mature fruit, good balanced with soft tannins and a "Graves mouthfeel" to go along with a 10+ second finish.
Another 2000 Bordeaux giving pleasurable drinking now. It will likely not show additional improvement and I would suggest drinking any remaining bottles over the next 2 - 3 years.

    92 points.

    February 15, 2024 - 2000 Chateau Latour Haut-Brion Pessac Leognan
Coravined for 2 glasses 2/14/2024. Enjoyed with rack of lamb Valentine’s dinner
Purple with slight lightning at the rim. Cigar box and black fruit on the nose. The wine opened in 30 minutes, revealing rich Cassis fruit, velvety tannins, fresh acidity and spice on a 15 second finish. Another beautifully aging 2000 Bordeaux with a 3 -5 year pleasurable drinking window ahead.
    92 points.

December 30, 2023 - The wine is a bit disjointed after an hour of air. Charred barrel and claret nuance were evident , but the wine was thin and lacked backbone. I saved half the bottle for the next day or 2 , we will see how that goes.Certainly better over the next 2 days.

December 19, 2023 - Christmas Wimps 2023 - Clean Bandit (La Trompette): Oof - this is lovely. Do I taste 2000 characteristics? Maybe I do, maybe I'm making stuff up. Either way a lovely claret.

December 14, 2023 - Christmas Wimps (La Trompette, Chiswick): This shows rich, dark fruit on the nose, Smokey mineral notes, some mint too. Medium/full bodied, rich, dark fruit, smoke, mineral, fresh acidity quite attractive bit there’s still a stubborn vein of firm tannins running through this and this is evident on the finish in particular.
