August 17, 2018 - We tasted the 2007 Outsider and the 2007 Problem Child in the same evening. This was a very interesting comparison as the Outsider is composed of 70% zinfandel, 20% syrah, 10% mourvedre while the Problem Child is 72% zinfandel, 16% syrah and 12% mourvedre. Despite having almost identical composition, these wines tasted very different upon opening. The color of both was the same with dense garnet in color. The Problem Child was ripe, sweet red and black fruit-sweet black cherries, black raspberries, plums. Smooth and complex with some earth, and vanilla from oak. Seamless and well integrated with long finish. In comparison, the Outsider seemed to have less fruit and a sharper edge, but the same fruit notes, and a slightly shorter finish. With time in the glass the Outsider seemed to open more and become more like the Problem Child, although I could always tell them apart by the sharper edge present in the Outsider. Both lovely wines, but tonight for me the Problem Child wins out.

March 19, 2016 - BLACK CHERRIES, BLACK RASPBERRIES, AND CHERRIES IN THE NOSE. JAMMY DEEP BERRY FRUIT IN THE FLAVOR. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.

January 18, 2015 - Big fruit driven wine. Dark berries on nose n palate. Easy drinking, some tannins on back end gave it some structure. What you would expect from an LC Zin based wine. Drink up.

August 10, 2014 - Perfectly cellared wine. Popped and poured, violent pour, they way I've seen burgundy poured. Funky barnyard cherry cream pie. Wow! Spice come out quick. Rasberry and blues on the nose,Backwards now? Don't think it would be a crime to lay a few down for 2 or 5 more years if conditions were nice. Spice integrates more. Drank over 3 days and continued to become smoother and more pretty.

March 29, 2014 - Dark scarlet/plum colour. Nose of black currant, blackberry and banana (?). Full-bodied with moderate tannins. Deep concentrated black currant and blackberry. Drinking beautifully now!
