    July 16, 2023 - From magnum
Cork crumbled on opening so we strained into a decanter
No discernible bricking . Solid color.
Nose was interesting with hints of spice and lots of dark fruit notes.
Palate was nice with well integrated flavors and some complexity.
Nicely made wine. Probably drinking at peak from magnum.

April 28, 2018 - Cork was stained all the way up, and even a little bit on the top end, but the wine inside seems fine. Dense coloring with garnet edges. Aromas of dark and dark red fruits, a little alcohol, vegetal green pepper, dry leaves, soil, lemon, sarsparilla, wet rocks, dark chocolate, and walnuts. Medium body, high acid, medium (+) finish, with flavors of dark red fruits, lemon, orange peel, cinnamon, and minerals. The fruit and acidity hit the mouth with a burst of flavor and presence that was a bit of a punch to the mouth on first sip, but stood up well to our seared steaks for dinner. It borders on OTT, and I think it would be even better with braised short ribs or a juicy, messy burger; rich and fatty foods is definitely the call here.

May 12, 2015 - Very green, herbal nose that really fills out with time opened.
Palate has a nice herbal richness. Probably due to high cab franc percentage.
    Long interesting and enjoyable finish.
    Would buy again.

June 21, 2014 - PnD let air for 30 minutes. Big ripe black fruit flavours. Well balanced with oak nicely integrated. Very ripe initially but enough acidity to keep it all in check. Great with grilled rib eye. A touch better than the 2006 Pentad.

February 8, 2014 - Disappointing. Dark dark red; pleasant nose of plums and cassis; palate - overextracted, sweet, monotonic, too ripe. Drinkable when chilled a bit.

September 16, 2013 - Popped, left open at the table for about 30 minutes then drank the first 1/2 of the bottle tonight.
We liked this wine but both of us thought it could have been better. There was a sense of being watered back is the best way to describe it. The richness and flavors were all there that we love but in a faded way that was difficult to pin down. We really enjoyed this wine but there was a sense it might have/could have been better. Will try the second 1/2 of the bottle tomorrow to see if it fills out. We both hope it does.
Day 2 was much better. Filled out just enough and was a very nice wine showing good fruit and just the right balance and acidity to pair well with our meal.
    Would buy again.

June 16, 2013 - A touch on the overly-sweet side, with an odd flavor I wasn't able to place. Could have drank better with more air. Rich fruit, silky mouthfeel, long finish. I liked it, but preferred the 2005 and 2007 vintages more.
